What do you want to be when you grow up?
I remember my Guidance counsellor asking me, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” - a doctor, an actress or a flight attendant were three things that made the short list. Motivation to explore careers that offered financial gains was always at the top of my mind. At that point, I could never have imagined the millions it is worth to see a person change their life for themselves and for their families.
Help people to change their lives!
When I am out in the community and asked what do I do? My response is always the same - I proudly explain that I help people change their lives and here is how I do that. I have the pleasure of working alongside an experienced team of educators, mentors and cheerleaders! Our education and training doesn’t stop with the program the student is registered in. The Algonquin Team helps our students restore their faith in themselves and gain confidence that they can succeed. There is an old saying “it takes a village to raise a child”. I truly believe that it takes a team to educate a student and the Algonquin Team works together each day to accomplish this.
Satisfaction worth millions!
Reflecting on my seven years in the role of Campus Director, I have happy memories of hundreds of families that I have met and thousands of hands that I have shaken with congratulations that leave me with a feeling that is worth millions!
