The Medical Laboratory Technician class at the Mississauga campus was doing a Hematology lab, with real blood collected in a Lavender top tube containing an anticoagulant EDTA.
Usually the students donate their own blood but not enough was collected so the instructor donated 14 tubes of her own - I think she looked considerably paler than usual. The specific tests were ESR: HCT, ABO and Rh; differential and then staining the differential; and finally capillary puncture (not show here). The Med Lab Technicians get to do some pretty interesting things!!!
