Re:In-Class learning continuing until Wednesday, March 18 - Remote (at home) learning beginning Thursday, March 19

Dear Students,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, our number one commitment is to your safety and the safety of our staff team. Our next concern is that you have the opportunity to complete your education.

At this time, no students or staff have indicated that they have had exposure to the virus - this is strictly a preventative measure.

The federal, provincial and municipal governments are strongly encouraging initiatives to reduce public exposure. Last week, many public colleges and universities cancelled onsite classes and moved to remote learning. Ontario cancelled K-12 education until April 6, 2020.

Our plan is to provide remote (at home) learning for the period beginning Thursday, March 19 to Friday, April 3. Each instructor is developing lesson plans and methodologies for this alternative delivery.

If you feel more comfortable staying home all of this week, we understand and respect your decision. Please contact your instructor to receive further direction regarding your learning material.

Your instructor will be connecting with you every day, taking attendance and being available for one on one counselling if required. All administrative support staff will be available for any support you need.

The school will not be closed during this period. We will be open each day from 8:00am to 6:00pm should you need direct administrative support. Instructors will generally be working remotely commencing Thursday.

We believe that this approach is in the best interest of everyone in that it allows you to continue your education from https://www.ottawapublichealth.ca/en/public-health-topics/novel-coronavirus.aspxhome.

Also, as this health situation is evolving, we suggest you keep yourself informed using the following reliable sources:

Des, Martha, Rebecca and Susan
