From: Des, Martha, Rebecca and Susan - Algonquin Careers Academy Management Team
Dear Students,
As always, on behalf of the entire ACA management team, I hope this communication finds you, your family and friends healthy, positive, and safe!
You have completed another successful week of learning, and the weekend is upon us with the promise of nice, spring weather. Take this time to slow down, relax, go for a walk, read a great book, and appreciate everything that you have accomplished thus far. Many of our ACA students have reached out to us to share their stories, new hobbies, new Netflix shows. Please keep sharing – it definitely lifts everyone’s spirits!
ACA is also committed to providing you with information from the federal government. There is federal support coming for students and recent graduates. The Canada Emergency Student Benefit and the Canada Student Service Grant will help students continue their studies and get the experience they need to start their careers. The CESB is a program that will provide support to students and new graduates who are not eligible for the CERB. This benefit would provide $1250 per month for eligible students or $1750 per month for eligible students with dependents or disabilities. The CSSG will help students gain valuable work experience and skills while they help their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will provide more details as they become available.
For now, stay physically distant but socially connected, and know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
If you need our support, let your instructor know and we will contact you.
Stay healthy and see you soon!
Kindest regards,
Des, Martha, Rebecca and Susan
