QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT GOING BACK TO COLLEGE

I meet with several people on a daily basis and they all tend to have one thing in common when it comes to going back to school.  Fear!  Many of them don’t know if they are cut out for school.  While they all have fear in common, their reasons all vary.  I often get asked, “Am I too old to go back to school?”  My answer will always remain that you’re never too old to go back to school.  Another concern that people have is failing.  My response to that is simple.  If you show up to class every single day with the will to learn, you will succeed.  Our small class sizes ensure that we can provide you with the extra help if you need it.  You won’t be on your own in this adventure.  There will be a class full of other students trying to achieve the very thing you’re aiming for.

I think the hardest part about going back to school is to take that initial step to get information.  There’s so much information out there and it can all get a little confusing.  My job is to help students find a career that they will love, and to answer all their questions and address their concerns before they take the step to register for a program.  We complete our information sessions one on one to make sure you have our undivided attention.  It’s very important that you come in for this session, as it allows you to see what the campus is like. You’ll have a chance to see what your classroom will look like and the equipment and tools you’re provided with.

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing these once shy students, who were scared to go back to school, walk across the stage during the graduation ceremony.  They have a new found confidence and sense of pride that was missing from our first meeting.   Seeing that transition is the reason why I love my job.
